May Useless Observations
Hey everyone,
Remember when Cory Booker held the floor of the U.S. Senate for 25 straight hours? Yeah, me neither. But I do remember that April came and went faster than hot dogs at Joey Chestnut’s house. April showers bring May Useless Observations! Last month’s edition can be found here. Let’s get started before Ukraine loses all of its rare earth minerals.
UO #1: I can’t believe I’m talking about the Cleveland Browns in consecutive UO newsletters but here we are. Regardless of all of the other nonsense that occurred in the NFL draft, there’s absolutely zero reason that Shedeur Sanders should’ve been the second quarterback drafted by the Cleveland Browns. I’m really concerned about Sanders’ career prospects in the NFL and he might be out of the league sooner than any of us would’ve imagined.
UO #2: I do the New York Times’ Wordle puzzle every morning. I’m currently on a 43-day streak. I treat Wordle like a horoscope of sorts. If I’m able to successfully solve the puzzle, that means I will have a good day.
UO #3: Where do people poop on survivalist shows like Survivor and Naked and Afraid?
UO #4: I’ve discovered Snoh Aalegra recently. I really enjoy listening to her music because half of it sounds like old The Weeknd songs and the other half sounds like futuristic Michael Jackson songs.
UO #5: I hate mediocre rap, Disney rap and the rap breaks on pop songs. All of them are a formulaic, paint-by-numbers approach to the genre of rap music that removes the essence of hip hop culture in my opinion. No one ever says anything clever or whatever and it’s never getting better. See what I did there?
UO #6: The only Disney-esque rap that I like comes from Gracie’s Corner. Gracie has bangers.
UO #7: With so many changes to the workplace in recent years, we need to come back to the table and revisit whether shorts classify as work appropriate or business casual attire. I think people from all races, genders and creeds should be able to show their knee caps in the workplace. What’s the difference between wearing shorts and wearing a quarter-zip vest? And what’s the appropriate weather to wear a quarter-zip vest?
